Climatic hazards are agents of disaster in terms of what
they may do to human settlements or to the environment. Potentially hazardous
atmospheric phenomena include tropical cyclones, thunderstorms, tornadoes,
drought, rain, hail, snow, lightning, fog, wind, temperature extremes, air
pollution, and climatic change.
